Even though is clearly marked as a gel and made of 95% cica, I was surprised by how light and clear this product is — and it almost melts under my fingers! (It comes with a small spatula to avoid that happening if desired.) It somehow feels elegant.
It’s not at all occlusive, so it doesn’t seal anything in, but that means it works great after my Vitamin C serum (which has great synergy with cica!) and under my sunscreen. It also works well to soothe my skin after tretinoin, since it’s light enough to not interfere with the prescription. Since it’s so simple, I also have tried mixing it with other straightforward products, such as The Ordinary’s pycnogenol or amino acids + B5, without worrying about ingredient conflict.
No matter how I use it, my skin feels hydrated, cooled, and soothed. Since it doesn’t have much in the way of actives and is more of a support for other products, I’m not sure I would’ve bought it if it hadn’t been on sale, but I definitely recommend it.
