As a makeup remover its not so good. I use full coverage makeup & though I only did one layer, it didn't remove much makeup even after some good scrubbing. I bought the sheet or pad version of this which worked better for me. I added it to my regimen (before washing my face with a cleanser) because it's oil based & hot harsh on the skin, I guess it leaves my skin soft, smooth & feeling hydrated.
