The annoying thing about some pimple patches is it falling off while you're sleeping (especially since you have to dig through the sheets to find it). You really use these the same way (put them on over a pimple that's already come to a head) but the selling point for these are 1. the shape is great and it's easier to apply without it folding in on itself or you needing to reapply 2. it doesn't fall off! even if you put it on over skincare.
