I've owned dozens of different types and brands of colored balms and melting balms throughout my life, and I'm not sure how to review this beside this product does just fine. It's moisturizing, but I don't find its moisturization or wear time impressive. It has a tint but doesn't show up on my lips unless layered multiple times (I'm a shade 23-25 in cushion with slightly mauve lips, and I purchased the plum shade expecting some contrast). I do like how sheer the formula applies, unlike some lip balms that looks more opaque when layered, but beside that, nothing really stood out to me.
